Who I am?

Hi, I’m so chuffed you’re here and want to know a little more about me.

I’m Aric Chakma, and I’m the founder of Saucerful of Ideas. I’m a marketer by day and a poet by night. Saucerful of Ideas is a space designated for letting digital marketing ideas splish, splash, and spill.

This is where I share my ideas, experiences and learnings as a marketer and also review products and tools that I believe would be helpful to up-and-coming digital marketers.

I am not offering an obvious road map or a step-by-step series of tactics. What I am offering is a compass – ideas that will make you a kick-ass marketer the more you use it.

My goal with this blog is to inspire and help find your passion project to create the life you’ve always wanted because I strongly believe the best marketers make things better by making change happen and by making the dreams of those they serve come true.

Let's go back a little

I may be a Marketer now, but I haven’t always been one. I graduated from college with a Journalism degree in 2016 and landed a job as the Content Editor at Arabia with Class

There, I learned digital marketing inside and out. Along the way, I picked up insights into SEO, conversion rate optimization and consumer psychology.

I also discovered inbound marketing and it got me hooked forever. I loved the challenge of attracting an audience in a world with an awful lot of noise. I was smitten and swooned.

Since then, I have tried many different marketing projects by myself. I tried my luck on Fiverr for freelance work, opened a drop servicing business, started affiliate marketing and created products on Amazon KDP.

Truth be told, I failed at most of them. But my failures gave me an opportunity for self-examination. It helped me grow. You have to make mistakes to succeed. That’s why losing in life is important.

And sure enough, along the way, I did manage to secure small wins and those wins have led me to create this blog.

I didn’t go to business school and I am not a brilliant marketer. I am, however, that guy who knows marketing is not about selling. It’s about providing solutions and helping people and that’s exactly what this blog is about.

I know there’s a lot of noise and a lot of distrust and that makes change risky. That’s why we often want others to go first. My goal with this blog is to change that school of thought.

It’s about improving yourself. It’s about creating work you can be proud of. It’s about broadening the market instead of stealing from your competitors. And most importantly, it’s about changing the culture for the better.

I want to help up-and-coming digital marketers create freedom in life through developing systems that can help them grow.

I genuinely hope my story pushes you to go and do what you already know is possible. Thank you for stopping by my corner of blogland.
